Our Journey
Professional Transmission and Converter was founded in 1982 in Frankfort, New York, with a modest 2,800-square-foot facility and five service bays. Owners Joe Giannotti and Rick Morris dedicated themselves to building a business founded on quality workmanship, exceptional customer service, and strong customer relationships.
Their commitment quickly paid off, leading to steady growth and the hiring of their first employee.
As demand for their services increased, the company expanded several times, with additions to the original building completed in 1984, 1989, and 2001. These expansions grew the facility to 15,000 square feet and supported a team of 20 employees.
During this period, Joe and Rick recognized a growing need for high-quality rebuilt torque converters. They established an in-house converter rebuilding division, managed by Rick, while Joe continued overseeing transmission services. Initially, converters were rebuilt exclusively for use in their own transmission rebuilds. However, the superior quality and performance of their products soon attracted interest from other repair facilities, creating a new and rapidly growing segment of the business.
Driven by increasing customer demand, Professional Transmission and Converter expanded its rebuilt torque converter sales throughout New York State, adding dedicated sales and delivery services. Continued growth led to the establishment of a warehouse and delivery operation in Southbridge, Massachusetts, allowing the company to better serve customers across the Northeast. Today, Professional Transmission and Torque Converter Corp. proudly serves customers throughout New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.
In 2004, the company faced its greatest challenge when a devastating fire destroyed its entire facility. Thanks to proper insurance coverage, the support of industry colleagues, and the determination of Joe, Rick, and their team, the business quickly began rebuilding. Within just five months, they had renovated and moved into a 30,000-square-foot former automobile dealership in Marcy, New York, where the company remains headquartered today.
Through hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to quality products and customer service, Professional Transmission and Torque Converter Corp. emerged stronger than ever. Joe and Rick credit much of their success to their involvement with the Torque Converter Rebuilders Association (TCRA), whose resources, industry standards, and network of expert rebuilders have helped them continue delivering exceptional products and service to customers throughout the region.
More than four decades after opening their doors, Professional Transmission and Torque Converter Corp. remains committed to the same principles that inspired its founding: quality, integrity, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
